[Tweak] Direct Links To Posts Within A Thread

Author: mashby

Description: This mod will teach you how to add a link in each post to that post. This way you can link to specific posts in a thread.

This is based on bira's Post Counter & Direct Link [link]. This mod does not include the post counter. The only way to add that feature is to install the hack.

I really like this hack on vBulletin.org and wished to add it to my board, but I didn't want to use a hack. Without this feature, it's a pain to try and provide a link to a specific post. Saying "go here, and it's the 3rd post down" just doesn't work for me. :)

For those of you that would prefer an image, I created a "link" icon in the default vB colors.

Nice lol I like how you made the image on the button a link in a chain. I'll install this once my site's back up.

Michael, this is a very nice template mod. Just what I was looking for, actually!
One question before I install it, though.
Why is the following line of code inside parentheses? I have never seen that in HTML, before.

Code:

      (<a href="http://yourdomainname.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=$post[threadid]#post$post[postid]">Link To Post</a>)
Thanks in advance. :)

so it will look like

(link to post), the parentheses have no effect on the mod itself what so ever.

Thank you, Anime-loo. Of course! Now, don't I feel silly! :p

Instead of (link to post) How can we get it do be numbers.

Such as First post in a thread is 1 second is 2 and so on

Larry
