Groups and/or Titles

1 Attachment(s)
Each board has it's own format for User Titles. For those that have strict rules about their titles, meaning that your title advances based on how many posts you make, how can we best inform our users what the groups are?

For example, I noticed that I'm part of the v100 group, whereas before, I was in the v10 group. How do I find out more information about what groups are and what they mean?

As a template edit, I think it'd be great if the Group/Title were a link that explained everthing. If I create the template mod, then I'd think you'd have to make an image or html page illustrating what your titles are and what they mean and then link to it. But is there a better way?

To put it another way, what would be the best way to illustrate my the titles on my board (see attached)?

Anyone have any suggestions?

How about adding into the FAQ, and then linking the title to it?

The usernames here were set on short notice as I could not come up with anything better, if you have a worthy list, please do share and I will edit the current ones :).

That's a good idea Bungie. I was just hoping that someone else had already asked this question. Certainly I can't be the first. :) You'd think that something like this would be built-in to vB :p

Yes, I have seen many sites use different names and would be interested if people would post what they use for their levels. I will post a screen shot of mine later but Im heading out of the house now.

That sounds like a good idea for a "competition" where the winner gets something that doesn't cost you any money. :D Like a free e-mail address, or points or something like that.

i just created a MOD that adds the rank titles and post count to the FAQ and makes the title in the postbit link to the Rank section in the FAQ. the MOD can be found Here
