RSS Import System
I hate to give the Devil his due, but one of the features I really like in IPB 2.1 is the RSS Import System.
What it does is this. I define a newsfeed for a forum, how often to check it and how many new feed to process. Every X hours, that feed is checked. For each new Y feed, a new topic is created in that forum. This movie shows how its administered. This one shows what the user experiences. I would kill for something like this in vBulletin. I'm willing to pay to help get this one started. |
already have it. Check out the "article bot"

Gosh, I didn't see that listed in the 3.5 Plugins forum. :ermm:
To be fair, I didn't know that hack existed for 3.0.X, but I'm still willing to donate to make it a priority for the author to port it to 3.5 as a plugin. |
Sorry. I'm sure it won't take too long.
I know you were looking in the 3.5 Plugins forum, but since you said, Quote:

Ok, that's too funny. Matt claims that the RSS import feature is his own idea, but it's been a vBulletin Hack for nearly a year.
Too funny. |
who's Matt?

The Reverse Engineer who owns IPB

here's another vote for this
would be nice if it came as a standard feature would be bad for the competitors to have that edge |
I'm looking for it, too.

sadly this nice feature wont make it into 3.5
/me gives the devil his due |
