GuestBook And Webpage - Do I Need Another PhpBoard?
 

i'm running this community site and well my employer needs a guestbook and webpage feature that looks like this:

but i'm totally in love with vbulletin the way it works and everything. plus we can't afford to loose all the threads in the forum, and the users.

is there any possible way to make user profiles look like this in vbulletin or give them an extra profile page that looks like this and is freely customizable like these are? including changing the background color, and adding whatever they please?

or will i have to switch over to another php board? if so... is there any php board that already includes webpage and guestbooks like the one in the example, and allows me to transfer my users to that board?

i need help badly. any form of info is appriciated.

There is a hack around that allow personal webpages for users, have a look at that.

i did try that on my board, but it doesn't work out that nicely. and doesn't allow as much customization for users.

I'm currently developing a hack that is very similar to the page you showed, however it wont be released to the end of summer. (That's the planned beta release, it could be longer)

What exactly doesn't work out? From what I can tell, you should be able to modify the guestbook hack as it is now to do this exactly. It's a little more complicating to do though, cause the hack author did not use the default vBulletin template system.

i can't customize scripts like that, or scripts of any sort, without a breakdown, because i have as good as zero php knowledge.

danny vbt... are you sure you can have it out by the end of summer? that would be by the end of august right?

say if i were to throw in 50 bux, could somebody come up with a hack that makes profile pages look exactly like that page? or i dont know customize the already existing guestbook/webpage hack to look like that?

I started working on my own "guestbook" (it didn't have the webpage features) but I gave up when 3.5 was released.

Are you planning on going to 3.5? If not, I can try and finish it up, but I don't think I could get working on it for a couple of weeks. :(

Yes, by the end of August I plan on having a beta released, but I can't promise anything, since it's a huge coding project...

yes i definately will upgrade to v3.5 the second it's out of the beta stages.
