Adding inline images

I would like to make it possible for people to include inline images in their posts that are not already stored on the web someplace. I know they can be attached but I want people to also be place them inline. Is there a handy tool I can offer them to upload their images to my site (or some other site?) or any other way of making this possible, while still being able manage the storage needs associated with storing the graphics.

Thanks!
Barry

We also used to have this option in ubb.threads. Within a few weeks we'll switch to vbulletin and would realy like to have this feature. My members are not very handy with the PC, so uploading images externaly is something I can never ask them to do :-)

So what I would like: a possibility to attach a picture from a user's local computer, which will be displayed inside the post.

Doesn't something similar already exsist ?

If you mean a gallery where users can upload a pic and have it hosted on your site, then yes there is a hack ... but it's for 3.5. Is that the version you're running?

vBulletin already has an integrated file uploading system. While pictures aren't displayed "in-line"... if I'm interpreting what BigIke's intent was correctly. The attachments can be viewed simply by clicking their corresponding link. See example below. I've attached two images which can be displayed as thumbnails and another which is displayed as an "attached image".
