Corruption of some form, try repairing the table, if that doesn't work, tell your host :)

Well now that i look my forum is working just my portal home page is the only place showing this error. I had my hoster look at the file limit size to see if anything was full but he said everything is mostly around 50% or less so its not that..any ideas??

BTW- the portal im using is vBa CMPS

in the admin CP when i try and look at the defualt settings it gives me this error:

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.3:

                        WHERE adv_settinggroup.grouptitle LIKE 'adv_portal%'
                        ORDER BY adv_settinggroup.displayorder, adv_setting.displayorder

i ran the Repair/Optimize tables thing and everything came back either STATUS: OK or STATUS: Table is already up to date.

if i had 3 wishes onw would definatly be to know everything about computers and this stuff.

Zero Tolerance 05-25-2005 05:00 PM

Well then something is wrong, try to optimize/check/analyze the tables. More information: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/ta...intenance.html

Submit a trouble ticket to vbadvanced at vbadvanced.com ..... He is really prompt and knows his software well.

Error: 28 means that a directory is full or wrong permissions.

You should immediate stop your database and contact your host about the diskspace problems.

Yeah, but would that explain why its just the cmps. I ran out of disk space once and kept getting sql errors on the whole site when cron jobs tried to run.

Marco van Herwaarden 05-26-2005 04:54 AM

Yes it could be limited to 1 specific query. If a query is run for which MySQL decides it is better to use a temporary table to use for sorting for example and your tmp-directory don't have enough space to hold all the data for that specific query, then this could happen.

Make sure you have also enough free space in your tmp-directory and run a repair on all tables.

Grant Sherwood 05-26-2005 06:43 AM

well magically it all started work w/o ptoblems................yet.

KevinL 05-26-2005 03:05 PM

I got that first error when there was a backup being made of the entire database (when switching servers). The /tmp folder was full which is what was giving me the error.
