Ability to allow users to 'apply' to join a different usergroup
 

I run a vBulletin forum for my guild - we have a usergroup specifically for the guild members. Is it possible to have a button on the memberlists page or somewhere which allows users to 'apply' to join a seperate userground?
This would save having a threads asking to be moved to the usergroup

You can User Public Joinable groups for this.

To make a Usergroup Joinable, set 'Public (Joinable) Custom Usergroups' to Yes.

If you after the creation of the Public Usergroup, assign a Group Leader, tehn this will become a moderated group, and the Group Leader (or Leaders) must first aprove teh join request.

Marcoh, is there an alert for this or do they have to constantly check for requests? I have a setup for this that I created using erwin's form mod that basically has the user answer the questions (apply) and then automatically posts it into a hidden forum for review.

To tell you the truth i am not sure about that. I guess there should be an alert.

I wrote an alert hack for this that PMs the group leader. In my opinion, this should have been built in.
