Strip selected characters from thread and post titles
Description
I got tired of users attempting to gain some extra attention for their posts with titles like "}}} Look at me! {{{". This hack removes selected characters from thread and post titles. The selected characters are set in the Control Panel under vBulletin Options->Censorship Options. Details Files to Modify: 2 Templates to Modify: 0 Settings to Add: 1 Difficulty: Easy Support I will be checking this thread and answering questions or addressing any problems |
Thanks for the hack but there had been like 3 of these hacks released in the last day or so.....
|
I think the others just denied the use of certain symbols
So my only question here is, will this strip all previous posts made like that, or just the ones from the time you install this on? If it removes all previous posts then that would be cool |
I missed the other script. It wasn't posted when I initially put mine together. The other denied certain symbols by giving an error message. My script strips the symbols and lets you set the symbols in the Control Panel.
It does not clean up old scripts, but that is a good idea. I will look into making the change. Mark |
Nice job. Installed.
Edit: This hack's code could be optimized... :( |
Should be just a simple query however its going to take forever to run.

is there an update or a new mod for this function?
