Out of office auto reply for PMs?

Would it be difficult to set up an out of office auto reply system for private messages?
If a member is going on holiday for a week it seems sensible to have the system
1) auto reply to people PMming them
2) not email PM notifications to the person.

You would obviously not want to auto reply to people who have themselves set up auto reply.

Would be easier to just show a warning screen with a user defined text if the receiving user have set himself as away.

No need to send back a real PM to inform the sender that the receipant is away, since it can be done real time.

Has there been any progress on this? Any mods developed?

I have various moderators in different world time zones - it would be amazing if an out of office message could say something like:

Its now past 6pm here in (where ever they are) I do check PMs out of office hours and will get back to you if I am able to but other wise it will have to wait until the morning (or after the weekend) before I get back to you.

Many thanks

A localized 'auto time stamp' would be great!
+ temporary 'away for a while' options..

I think you have been here long enough to know not to necro these extremely old threads.
And, why can't you just search yourself, than make necro posts???

My guess would be that he did a search and didn't notice the date on it when replying to it.

And why can't you just leave it after a post was already made to point this out to him, but you feel it is needed to rub it in once more?:p:p
