Firefox 1.0.4 Now Released

Firefox Update Brings Security Fixes

The Mozilla Foundation has released what it calls a "security update" to its flagship Firefox Web browser, which resolves three critical vulnerabilities. The 1.0.4 update comes just three days after two exploitable flaws were uncovered by security firm Secunia that were deemed "extremely critical."

Extremely Critical huh? Well thats what happens when a so called 'safe-browser' finally gets up in the world, a portion of the billions of people who try exploit IE turn to Firefox, just so they can mess people about.

Heh.. :p

the bad side of being famous.

the section in which they offers skins, extension and plugin even has a dynamic url because "...we are being hacked...."

everyone b!tched how IE was full of holes.. look who has the holes now?
i always said the reason IE had/has holes is not because MS doesn't know what they're doing, but because the user base is much larger, so people will try to break it.. the same thing is happening to firefox right now.. wait a few more months/years... more holes and flaws will be found as it becomes a bigger target.

.. and for the record, i used firefox.. neither IE nor Firefox is more secure.. they both have flaws, and more flaws will be found in both browsers. people don't like to admit it, but they feel stupid when holes are found.

No, Firefox is inheritently more secure due to its lack of proprietary functionality such as ActiveX controls and VBScript, both of which are constantly the source of hacks.

Firefox is probably getting these recent vulnerabilities given their market share has been exploding.

Well, yeah.. but there are security holes in every piece of software. Atleast Firefox releases updates for them. IE hasn't had an update in how long??

EDIT: Filburt, we keep posting at the same time. Aww shucks.
