vb.org Archive - First Post & First Image on HOME PAGE

I am trying to get the first post, and first attached image to that first post, to show up on a non-vB home page. So far we have managed to pull the text from the first post and get the PEAR module to operate (minus the smilies) but the images are just such a problem.

We have been working on this for over a month and the image problem for about 2 weeks now with zero results. I think this can be done but the programmer working on this with me HATES vBoard sites and is lost.

PLEASE help us out!
The site in question is www.wheeledge.com, www.wheeledge.com/forum, which is a performance copy of www.motortestmagazine.com, and pitlane.motortestmagazine.com... which too is not done because of this problem.
