Thread to Announcement

I need to make (quickly) thread as an announcement. Especially when posting new thread it will be useful to mark that thread as being announcement (like in phpBB)...

any ideas or ready hacks ?

In vBulletin the term Sticky is used for this.

I know that - but dont want to make them Sticky but make them as an announcement :)
