Most Ever Users / Members / Guests / Chatters etc
This modification is no longer available or supported. This hack performs two functions ; Firstly - it seperately counts the most ever users, members & guests [and the timestamp they happened] for display in the Forumhome "What's Going On" section. At the moment this only records and displays the 'most ever users' (which is members + guests, and if often inflated by spiders etc). To avoid cluttering the display it only displays one of the counts at a time - changing which one is displayed every 10 seconds. The existing 'most ever users' count [and timestamp] remain untouched, but obviously the new members and guests counts will only start from when you install the hack. Secondly - this provides a most ever chatters/visitors/posters count for the three hacks I have released on vb.org (see my sig to find them). The code for these three 'plugins' is commented out by default - and can be removed if you don't require it (if you are unsure, then leave it - it won't do anything while commented out) . If you have one or more of these hacks installed, and want this extra functionality, then uncomment the relevant section of code for each hack. This has been running for a week on our test system, and a couple of days live, without any problems, any support questions should be posted in this thread (read the sig first ;)). Oh, and for the paranoid among you - no it doesn't add any queries to index.php. |
interesting hack! n-e-x clicks install!

Any screenshots bud?
|
Not at the moment - I will add some soon. :) There isn't exactly much to see unless you have some of the extra hacks of mine installed. The default change just alters the existing "most ever" message to one of three (users, or members, or guests).
|
Okay, I added the screenshots - the first shows one of the messages (most users) and also the effect on my three other hacks (if installed). The other two images show the other messages (for guests and members).

Paul,
i installed this mod, mainly for your chatters and 'online today' mods. however, i do not want to keep the members/guests/users seperated in the Currently Avtive section (i want to revert to the default 'users' only, but still want to use the chatters/online today features). can you tell me what i need to remove/replace to revert that section back to the vb default? i tried it, and it disappeared completely. thanks again! |
just to add to that, i don't think it's working right:
Total users that have visited today: 41 The most members online in one day was 63 (Today) makes no sense, right? or am i missing something? |
