it seems all these other forums are doing great but mine :(

Well your forum isn't about anything specific, you don't have a custom style, you have no unique content by the looks of things. Why would anyone want to join your site :)?

That's what you need to ask yourself... and then based off that make changes and target a niche :)

what could i add to make it unique?

i have tons of stuff like a topsite, gallery, arcade, SOTW, radio and more

you think i good custome done skin would do the trix? it would cost me about $60 for a custome one :(

any cheaper sites out there?

A true custom skin will cost you alot more than $60. ( More like a couple to a few hundred) You can get skins for vb off of a few sites for a little as $29, but I personally dont consider them "custom".

Advertise, Ardvertise & Advertise. Join numerous sites and if they allow signatures place a link to your site there.

Offer something that people will want. Like weekly or monthly give-aways, or something..

Have your site topic something you are passionate about. Your enthusiasum will show and it will generate interest.

Even when no-one is posting make it a point to post 1 or 2 posts EVERYDAY. Just because people arnt posting doesnt mean they arnt visiting. If they see no activity, they will just leave without posting themselves..

1 yr for a forum is still very young.

There is always going to be instances of inactivity. Remember, as the weather gets nicer, people go outside..

yeah its hard to get a site succesful, mine managed it cause we offered soemthign different, though it was never intended to be what it is now, I just liked vbulletin and had it as a forum for my own use, and a few others, now we have over 3000 members a year on, deleted over 1000 inactive accounts.

But arcades and such wont get you users, as people can play game anywhere on the net, its only when people can compete with others, they really wanna use yer arcade.

as mholtum said, advertise, but dont take the mick on other sites, get in on another site 1st, dont just start spamming or people will never go to yer site

[edit] Also I would reduce the amount of forums you have, as its not nice to see lots of empty ones.

I started off with only 3 forums, and then added more and more as they were needed

But nerds and computer-addicts stay inside, lest the sun burn their pale skin and hurt their square eyes ;)
