Is there a hack to limit attachment downloads with new members
 

SEE I run some attachment files and uploading attachment for members on my forums and I wanted new members or just members with less than 20 post, to post first 50 post than give them the rights to download/upload feature...

Is there a way to do this feature without groupin members that has rights now,

If so can this be done automatic too?

This can easily be done with Usergroups and Promotions. Don't understand why you don't want to use that?

I would if I understand it lol

Change your current "Registered Members" (if your members are in that group) not to allow downloads.

Now create a new Usergroup, which will allow downloads.

Go to Promotions, add a new Promotion, make the promotion active on Posts and set the limit to 20. Select Registered Members as Usergroup for which the Promotion apply, select the new created Usergroup as the group to promote to.

Finished.
