Bill Proposes Ending Free Weather Data
Politics anyone??
The Internet has made weather data more freely accessible to those who want it. What kind of idiot proposed this. The weather isn't an insitution, it's nature and it's a service offered to predict it! Everyone should be entitled to a prediction!

I was reading about that on slashdot I think... there was some mention of the bill being sponsored by weather services that sell thier information. I appreciate thier desire to want to make a profit but I think there are alot of weather enthusiasists who depend on the feeds for NWS and I feel that we should protect this service.

I'm just a bill. Yes, I'm only a bill. And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill. Well, it's a long, long journey To the capital city. It's a long, long wait While I'm sitting in committee, But I know I'll be a law some day At least I hope and pray that I will But today I am still just a bill. Couldn't help myself ;) |
LOL ... takes me back a decade or so
