Clarification
Something I thought I understood, but wish to clarify anyway :)
If the maximum warning points number is 5, and a user gets given 5 warning points, they are banned. If the warning maturity for this warn of 5 points is 60 days, and the ban length is 7 days, after 7 days, will they be unbanned even though they still have 5 points in their account, or is the points cleared after being unbanned? Thanks :) |
No, you got it right. After 7 days, the user will be unbanned, and he will still have 5 points in his account, until the warning he got, matures, i.e. for another 53 days. If during that period he gets one more point, he is banned again.

Great, I got that.
However, can you explain Ban Maturity? I'm a bit confused by it. |
Well, say that a user got banned today. In his account, there will be at least one warning, at least the maximum warning points (he got banned, right?) and one ban. Say your ban period is 7 days. After 7 days, he will be unbanned.
He still have the warning points in his account though. After the warning type maturity period has passed, the warning points will vanish. The warning will still be there and the ban will still be there (so, you can see that he was once awarded one warning and one ban). If you have set the bans maturity period to 3 months for example, after 3 months the ban will not show up in his account, it will be removed. That's it. Rgds |
