Need help!

:o Well, I think I've killed it. And this time, I'm not even sure what I did, and where to begin looking for the cause. I've recently upgraded my vbgallery to the latest RC4 version from RC3. As far as I can see, I did everything correctly, and the gallery works fine. But once I completed, the entire forums dissappeared! From the backend (acp) everything looks fine. Can someone please shed some light on this situation for me? Any help is greatly appreciated!

How does the database look if you peek at the raw data? Is everything there that should be?

MB Dreamz 04-14-2005 05:29 PM

Not sure what to look for. This is the first board that I've hacked, so I'm still a newb. Will you be willing to take a look for me? I'll be more than happy to compensate you for your time. Thanks.

If you are getting a complete blank page, it is not the database, but a file- or template edit.

If it is a database problem 90% of the times you will at least get an error message.

Yes, I just asked one of our admins to look into the database, and everything seems fine. I’m looking into the templates now. The problem is I’m not sure where to begin searching.

Just had a quick look your forums are still there (http://www.cafetrends.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1) nothing seems to be wrong with database.

I suggest you double check template and file edits.

Marco van Herwaarden 04-14-2005 08:09 PM

I would start with changes to index.php or one of the forumhome templates.

Edited: I apologize...didn't know the rules.

Marco van Herwaarden 04-14-2005 08:24 PM

Please remove those 2 files, it is against your license agreement and our rules to post full vB files.

Once again, thanks for all the help.

Found the problem. When I added the Dynamic Forum Home Announcements Hack, I accidentally deleted all the usergroup permissions.
