First of all, let me say that when I say that anything "should", "can", "will", etc. is all in the event that the Lord is willing. If he is not, then one of it is possible. That being said, let me finish this post:

Perhaps it has already been done, but let me suggest.

Add an expand-and-collapsable menu to persons' posts so users can post and reply to posts within a thread more easily, and it is more mangable and friendlier to read...this way threads are essentially expanded menus to initial posts. When a reply is posted to a thread, users can reply to that reply, and then people reply to that reply, and then reply to that reply, and so on.

Essentially it builds trees so that people don't go rambling wildly off-topic. Then, if somebody posts something and someone reads that post and takes interest in that reply, they will be more apt to expand the list of replies to that post (or, comments) and then each reply acts, essentially, like a new thread. This way things don't get messy, and since they're easily expandable and collapsable, or since they're not all located on one single page, it should help load time and navigation of fora (forums).

I thnk that is one of the Thread view options you can set in the User CP.
