Would it be hard to disable the salt in passwords? I'm looking for a better way to determine if 2 accounts belong to the same user. Also, would this pose a security threat?

Yes this would create a possible security threat, well less secure anyway.

What are you trying to do? Compair password hash of 2 users?

Yeah, I'm running a league/ladder system, and that would be an ideal way to check for having multiple accounts, IPs aren't as good due to proxies (especially ones like AOL).
