ignore thread option?

it would be cool if, along with the 'subscribe to thread' option, there would be an 'ignore thread' option. We have certain long-going threads, such as game threads, that annoy people, but they dont want to block the whole forum the threads are in, and they dont want to block the people, they just get tired of seeing or hearing about certain threads..
