Forum Development

Hi all,

Iam the webmaster of www.discussweb.com , a Web design forum.

I started this forum before 6-7 months and now it has developed in a good way to some extent. I already get around 10,000 visits per month from search engine referrals.

And i also get many ads every month worth atleast $100-200.

Now that since my forum is developing. I would like to convert it to a portal type like sitepoint and give more to the users like tutorials, articles, contests, books, run sponsor ad's etc...

Can it be done ?

Iam asking this because i know only a few things in vbulletin. I know to use the admin very good but iam very weak in editing the templates/codes and stuff. So currently iam distributing sponsored ad's in the footer of my website which doesnt look very good.

Any ideas or suggestions ?

So is there any one who can help me achieve what i need ? Iam ready to pay for sure.

Kindly assist.

Thanks

Vinoth

If you want to pay for services you can trying posting in the service request forum.

What you need to figure is if you want to use a script already out there and intergrates with vBulletin (CMS like mambo, postnuke, etc). Going this route will be cheaper, but your site will probbly look like many other ones already out there on the net. You will lose the 'unique' factor.

Otherwise you can pay someone to code a custom system for you, this will cost more but will have something working to your needs only, not a pre-packaged script coded to someone elses expectations.

The longest, and best solution imho is to learn how to code and build your own site, but sadly most do not have the time or want to put forth the effort to do this.
