Force sorting

I've got some specific forums that I want to force display first article first (sort ascending). They are chronological. And I want to take advantage of the previous/next with next being a real next instead of no more to display. Is there an easy way to do that, perhaps with conditionals?

unfortunately vb3 doesn't allow you to set the sort options for a speficied forum so I think the only solution is changing php code.
