New Reoccuring Paypal Subscriptions Hack
 

Please!

With over 100 installs, this hack was very popular. However, the hacker has been banned from vB.org by the admin. Obviously, that means no more development, support, etc. for those of us who need this and no way for the original hacker to be contacted for permission to upgrade his code.

So......what is needed is a new hack, one independent of the original coding.

Obviously, it would be immediately very popular and very much appreciated. Thanks.

One would think that at least one of the 100 of you who installed the hack would know how to fix any existing bugs and share them with the rest of you in that thread. Rather than asking another coder to do the work for you, why don't you guys contribute something to the community and fix it up yourselves? Nothing stops you from posting bug fixes and changes in the hack thread.

I'm not a moderator and I'm not trying to be snotty.

All I'm saying is that a hack doesn't have to be rerelased to be fixed. Lots of hacks end up being real collaborative efforts among the people who install and use them. I'm not trying to be rude, just saying that you don't need an official support person in charge or need to have the hack redone.

im not getting at you or nothing but when i read it i thought you was being snotty and can bet odds on others do.Just your reply above says it all but you need to remember that not everyone can code or even fix hacks and vb.org is the actual place to ask for help.

I would love to have fully a functioning Reocurring PayPal Subscriptions hack. The one right now just isn't cutting it. :/

As for your "suggestions", you might find this helpful. Since this hack deals with collecting money from our users, I doubt that many of us are comfortable with "patching" holes that might ultimately cause us to appear dishonest (perhaps by double-billing) or annoying (by sending out multiple emails). That's why we need a new hack ... not a confusing thread chocked with "best guesses".
