When register must post in deignated thread to see forums

I want a hack that when a member registers they see 1 thread only and they have to post in it to view the rest of the forums thanks :o

Is simple, no hack needed

Set registered user to only see 1 forum. Set them not to allow post threads, but to reply to others. Pre-create a thread in that forum.

Set that they are upgraded to a new membergroup after they make 1 post.

You want them to make a new thread, or to reply to an existing one.

If a new thread: Set the Registered Users group: Not to reply to post of others.
If on existing thread: Set Registered Users: No new thread, can reply to others.
Give in both scenarios Registered Users only access to 1 specific forum.

Create a new usergroup: Full Member with access to the rest of your board

Now go to AdminCP->Users->Promotions-Add Promotion
- Usergroup: Registered Users
- Comparison: Greater Equal
- Posts: 1
- Promotion Strategy: Posts
- Type: Primary usergroup
- Move to Usergroup: Full Member
