thread and header image thumnails hack ?

I'm currently using phpBB for my forum, but I'm finding it somewhat limited in comparison with my requirements. I'd like to ask if Vbulletin is capable of the following features:

My site is about digital art. I want to create a image gallery forum. In order to make this work I would like each of the threads in the gallery to have a small thumnail image next to it.
The second feature (and this is where things get complicated maybe !?) I would like the overall header of all the other forums to show larger thumbnails of the latest images in the images gallery forum !

Are there existing vbulletin hacks that can be used, or is this something that needs to be custom created by a programmer ?

i don't know of any existing hacks doing so, but for a custom job, that shouldn't be a big problem i think

the cgtalk.com hack has been released, not sure about the header one though.
