User-selectable PM notification type (flashing or popup)

This hack is based on this one (which is incomplete IMHO):

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....28&postcount=6

I have refined it to be user-selectable via a custom profile field. The attached TXT file details the instructions for installing. (Rating: Easy)

You should select one of the attached IMG files (or make your own).

Note that this is my first hack, so I have exactly ZERO idea how to post it here (any insight would be MOST welcome!) But I've tested it, and it works great.

This template mod, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....28&postcount=6, already works perfect. ;)

You bet, if you don't want the option of using the old method as well. That thread got me thinking about how I could have a user-selectable PM notification. I used that thread as the foundation. I loved it!

Whenever I hear user-selectable I hear custom profile fields.

nexialys 03-16-2005 10:30 AM

hey hey.. this custom profile fields are become too popular... we will have to face it, deactivate the entire thing in the next release, isn't it ?!

lol... hey, kidding!

btw, i hate these custom things

this doesn't work with vb3.0.7 ?? i've check the files ten times but nope .... it's something i'm doing wrong i'll get back to you if i ever get it working

Dennis Olson 04-01-2005 09:43 PM

Yeah, it should work fine. It's such a TINY little change...

Make sure you create your custom field and plug its name into the code, and upload a gif image (or create your own) and change the gif-filename reference in the code fragment to match your filename.

Delphiprogrammi 04-02-2005 09:43 AM

hi,

now it look like working but the image isn't flashing and so small i can hardly see the image  look at the attached screengrab and you see what i mean
