vB "Tip of the Day" or "Topic of the Day" or "Quote of the Day"
 

I'd like to see a feature where we could create a table in the datatbase, and fill it with items, either things like random quotes, words or tips, and then each day a random item would be pulled out of the database, and displayed, either on forum home, or as a thread in a specified forum. More specific examples:

If I have a cooking board, and I want a 'random food of the day' to be pulled out of the database and posted up, then it would do that, and whatever the random food item is could be the subject of a daily discussion thread. Like if 'eggs' were selected as the random food of the day, then on that day people could exchange egg recipes, share funny stories about eggs, etc.

If I have a tech board, the database could be filled with 'tech tips', and each day a different 'tech tip of the day' would be pulled from the database and displayed on forumhome or auotposted as a thread in a specified forum.

I think this could work with almost any board, and any topic. In fact I could use this script several times on a few boards!

Random quote of the day on forumhome, random tech tip of the day in tech support, random food in offtopics, random movie to be discussed in the movie section, etc.

Id like to see the same thing. I want to use it for tips about using vbulletin though because my members dont understand half of the site
