Else If in templates

I'm trying to show only banned rank when someone is banned, i don't know what the coding is for the templates, my friend told me is was XML but i'm not sure.

Code:

<if condition="is_member_of($post, 8)">

<img src="images/ranks/banned.gif"

</else>

$post[rank]

<if condition="is_member_of($post, 10)">

<img src="images/ranks/secondrank.gif">

</if>

</if>

I allready know this is incorrect, could someone tell me what will work?

well, besides a mising /> on your first image tag its fine/.

yeh that's just a mistake, when i do this it just makes the rank field blank

What template are you trying this in?

Postbit, were the ranks are.

I also have another problem, it some people are in a primary group that have a if statment for and it shows the rank image twice, how could i stop this?

I think the else tag should be <else /> not </else>
