Extra New Lines on Category list

i am trying to find out where in the template section that occurs....

would like to eliminate some of the redundant blank lines in the article categories list

its only visible in IE where the extra spaces show, not mozilla

there is an extra <br> in vbArticles_categorybit
also look at vbArticles_categorybit_post & vbArticles_categorybit_pre.
