Urgent Help needed
Hi,
I recently purchased a server and after ploading my VB files then I went to do the DB only to find that when I was restoring it, certain tables and data entries were in what looks like corrupt code like: Code:
Then it goes on for ages, same stuff around the cronlog and datastore area, not even got half way through yet. This was a straight backup from VB admin area on one forum. The forums were meant to reopen at 8pm tonight and I don't know what the problem is. I just posted over on VB official site then thought of posing here Thanks in Advance Danny |
do you have any other backups
seems like the backup you made was corrupt |
The thing is thwe last few times they have been corrupt, is this a VB problem?

well how did you do the back-up via the admincp
if so try and do it via SSH or through cPanel (if you have cPanel that is) |
I would but my host didn't take kindly to me getting my own server (not a very friendly one but reliable) then he suspended my account, Then he unsuspended it and the server i used to use went down. As soon as it comes back I will try a WHM transfer but I suppose I will have to sit and wait

yep do a backup that way, or use SSH. and i think it is illegal for them to suspend your account if you had paid for that month just because your getting a new host.
and fyi, never tell your host your leaving them until you have everything you need, just in case they do this to you. |
Thanks very much for your time and help :D

databse dont look corrupt to me - that info above could be anything such as pics stored in the actual database.I have restored many databases with data that looks like that though Mysqlfront with Nps whatsoever.
|
i have never had a database look like that ever, even with pictures in the database.
|
Well it is simple: check the last 10 lines of the backup file wih any editor.
If it contains a nice closed set of inserts into the "Word" table, the backup seem to be complete. |
