Un-Hide Content By Clicking A Button

I actually recall seeing this on a board a while back, what it did was, a user could 'hide' their content when making a thread but instead of making a person reply to see all they had to do was a click a 'Thanks' button and they could see the hidden content. There was also a drop down list of all the members who clicked the button. I doubt that this hack was released? But if anyone could make it I'd even be willing to pay.
