External JS Adding to Users Online

I have the external data feature running on the main section pages of my site to list which threads are being discussed on the appropriate message boards.

However, I noticed that having these pages call the data is adding to the "guest count" on the message board itself, giving a false tally of how many people are actually visiting the site.

Is there a way to fix this or maybe set up a dummy user account and somehow assign its UserID number into the query so that at the very worst it only adds one to the tally of users online?
