I haven't been able to figure out a way to do this with standard vB nor have i found a hack so if anyone has any ideas i'd love to hear 'em.

So i'd like to welcome all users to sign up and post but to get advanced privileges like PMs, avatars etc i'd like for them to post their introduction in a special thread where members would be able to add points to their thread. If they gather enough points then they would automatically get upgraded to a new usergroup.

Right now i do this manually (without collecting votes or points) but it would be a great feature to encourage new users to introduce themselves and members to actively read those intros.

What do you think?

I'm looking for something very similar. Someone please email me if this hack get's made.

Maybe someone could just edit Trafix's Members Choice Voting hack, so that the winning users get put in a new usergroup. That's what I want.
