Referral Trouble

Hello,

I'm having trouble with my referral system.

If a user doesnt enter a referral id, the admin (userid 1) automatically is assigned the referral. I dont want this to happen, any idea on how to stop it?

The only referral hack i'm using is
hack name: link for each user for inviting members
by : all-the-vb

I looked through the code in that but couldnt find the source of my problem.

Any ideas?
