Stopping Certain Posts / Threads Appearing On New Posts

Hello,

I've looked via the admin cp and i'm sure there is something there but how can I stop certain forums from appearing on the New Posts option. I have a community forum with some games threads and some users just want to see the serious stuff on New Posts, not the joke or fun stuff.
