show a link to subforums of a forum under forum description

Is there a hack that would let a user view the subforums of a forum without clicking on the actual forum?

That's easy and doesn't require a modification on vB3
In your Admincp go to vBulletin options

Forum Listing Display Options - > Depth of Sub-Forums. Set that at least to 1.
