Blank Articles.php
Hey Cinq,
I am really looking forward to trying out your mod! I installed it per the instructions but whenever I bring up the articles.php page it is nothing but a blank screen. I am sure I did something wrong but I am not sure what. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Eric http://host74.hrwebservices.net/~indepth/articles.php |

Yes, should I reupload the files, drop the tables from my db and try again?

Blank screen most of the times are a sign of a missing template. Are you using more then 1 style? If yes, try using the default style.
|
Yes, that's very much the cause of this. He has the templates installed on the default template but not on the rest.
|
Ok, you will have to bear with me since I am a vbulletin newbie. What exactly do I need to do?
|
Hmm yes, it only installs on the default styleid.
You will need to add the templates in for the other styles as well ( which could be tedious since there are many templates and you look to have many styles ). Let me see if I can write a template installer for you, could you drop me a PM with the style IDs you have ? ( Admincp -> Styles and Templates -> Style Manager , for each of the style, hover your cursor over the style link, there should appear in your status bar the URL with a &styleid=x where x is the value I am asking for ) |
Thanks Cinq, PM sent.

InDepthArts - this isn't too hard to fix actually in lieu of cinq writing an installer for you. in the install_vbarticles.php file, there is a line that says $styleid=[something];
Just change the part after the = to the # of your style, reupload the installer, run it ONLY to the part where it installs the templates and then exit out of the web browser. I just did the exact same thing yesterday but thankfully I remember that little trick from a few other hacks. You can get the styleid from your admin CP. If you open up the styles and templates and just hover your mouse over the template name, you'll see the styleid # on the status bar (assuming you're using IE) on the lower left corner. Just plug that # into the installer, upload, run, click to the template install (one click I think), exit, rinse and repeat for your other templates. |
Yep, that would do it.
InDepthArts, if you don't understand how to do it after reading through AuroraMike's explanation, let me know and I will send you what you need to get this going on your other styles. :) |
