Uploading = Black Thumbnail??

i have vbgarage working and everytime i upload an image it adds it to the garage not as a thumbnail but as a link (ie: hotcar.jpg) . When you click it the image name (hotcar.jpg) it pops up but the window is all black.
Any thoughts?

I dunno how much this helps, but I want to say your image paths are incorrect. The black you see in the popup window is the background without an image, meaning the image is not displaying. This might also explain the thumbnail issue. It cannot find the thumbnail, so it substitutes a text link instead.

I checked out your garage, and viewed the properties of one of the "broken" images, and loaded the properties URL...see for yourself what happens...

This is only a guess on my part. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

andi verified the dir where i would like the uploads to go, and after uploading nothing was in it. sooo now.. issues :rolleyes:

That one SS shows GD for Perl, not PHP. Not sure if that's the problem or not though.

i just grabbed that from the control panel...LOL..

Try this...

Go to ftp and see if you have i123.jpg and t123.jpg for example. Download one of the txxx.jpg's and see if it works. If it does, we have a link problem, if they don't exist or don't work I think it's a GD problem which your host will have to fix by adding GD to PHP.

ya, im not seeing any of the files ive tried to attach via vbgarage.

however, my regular thread attachments is working great.
ill send a msg to the host...

i thought maybe it was an error in my path to the dir of the garage.

If you don't see any images in the folder, it may be the path or the permissions.

The images folder needs to have 777 attributes.

yup, permissions are all in check, i think its the path..

ive tried /usr/online/garage
./online/garage
/public_html/online/garage

i give up until ihear from one of the other guys..

i wish there was a way to check, or even a file i could download, crack open and see

You are on a cpanel server so the path is something like.

/home/toront/public_html/online/garage/

The toront part is a guess. Replace that with your cpanel login name.
