FlashChat - Automatic login?
 

Has anyone configured FlashChat to automatically login registered users on an integrated install?

Yes - anyone who has followed the instructions (supplied) on how to do it. :)

I simply linked to flashchat.php rather than index.php this way users are automatically logged in. :)

I've followed the install/integration instructions and verified the link to flashchat.php, and it still prompts for username & password.

Just went through it all again the next day fresh and still need login. I'm not an expert and haven't found similar problems searching the forums. Is there something simple I'm missing perhaps?

The app is working great, it's just the login issue. :ermm:

Don't bother following the installation instructions, instead, go directly to the integration instructions provided. That will solve your problems. Also, one thing I noticed, with this program, if you are logged in the chat with one browser (say firefox), and try to log in from the same PC using another browser (say IE) as a different user, it gets confused. I assume that it allows one connection per IP address only.

There is a setting in the config file to allow multiple connections from 1 ip address. I use multiple connections from my pc all the while for testing.

There is obviously something amiss in your set-up - impossible to say what without access to your system. It works fine if set-up correctly. :)

I can confirm Paul M's remark that it works OK if set up properly.

And thanks for the tip for multiple connections, I haven't noticed that parameter.
