restricting usernames to database group
Not sure if this is the appropriate location to ask...I am trying to restrict a known group of club membership to using only their real name as usernames. i.e. JohnDoe as the username. Any ideas?

And what would you want to use as a reference for that?

I have a group of users (Pilot group) who need access but we need to make the usernames their actual names. This does two things. 1) only allows those who are crewmembers to register. 2) denys access from unknown users.
There are ways around this, of course. One could register someone elses name. At least it would stop the john does from access. I have the groups names in .xls format. I am trying to not have to enter all users myself. Mike |
Use excel to build an SQL file with insert statements. Search around a bit here on the forum for the exact syntax on the insert into the user table.

Thanks
