I always get vb database error e-mails about a specific error and i dont know how to fix it or why it's there. It seems to only happen to bots...

If it's intermittent, it means that MySQL server has gone down or is refusing connections, it could be that it's being rebooted.

If it's all the time, either the server is dead or your database details are wrong in includes/config.php

Bots ?

Spyke 01-29-2005 07:31 PM

by bots i mean search engine spiders :).

Ok, It does happen alot but doesn't happen to members/users...only to spiders..

Would it have anything to do with me accidently deleting the user within my database (awhile ago)? I immediatly added the user and everything still operated fine...but i do believe that that's when it started happening.

Contact your host, for some reason vBulletin was not able to make a connection to mysql.

The only way for this to happen is if the info in config.php is wrong. or mysql is not avaible for some reason.

Its a server issue in every regard.

I too am having this problem only just now.

I upgraded to 3.0.7 and am applying all the hacks one-by-one to fresh files.

Could it be that I buggered up init.php? Does that make sense?

the only time i have ever seen it is with either the server Fing up or the config.php file info being wrong
