nice hack idea

well i think this hack will be very helpfull around here
its called Hack Bugs..

well the idea is like that :

every hack that posted around have a bugs list,
on thread users will have "report bugs on this modification"
and thread starter will be able to post fix's and patch's for his hack

offcurse when thread starter upgrade his hack to new version
(change version on edit modifcation) then the old bugs list deleted andreplaced with new 1 - cuse useally bugs fixed with upgrades

i hope you guys got my idea right

if so some1 around will have some work to do (Xenon ? ;) )

i think this was suggested many times... the point is that each thread started for releasing a hack is dedicated in parts to the bug reports, so having a detached part of this would overload the system that is actually well filled...

The idea itself is good.

But as Nexialsys already said, that's why the supportthreads are for.
If i'd have more time, then i would do it, but actually i don't have currently ;)

I think it'd be kind of redundant as bugs can be reported within a thread and if the author is interested they'll fix it :)

then again, bugs can often get lost in a huge support thread.
What if the author goes away on vacation or summit...
Or what if he doesn't note down the bug reports somewhere else, and then the thread is flooded with other issues (user error issues, that is).
;)

Yep some kind of integrated bug tracker on a per thread ( in the full and beta releases subforums ) could be useful to coders in documenting and weeding out the bugs.

Yes thats a very nice idea.

Stefan, Erwin had in mind a team of code checkers that will post flaws or errors in the code or hacks... was this idea abandoned?

im not judge or anything but i dont think this idea is good
as there is alots of hacks posted,
the team you talking about wont be able to get into all hacks
and check them 100%
also hack should test on few conditions
i mean like other machines, other forums info, with combination with other hacks.
i dont think the team you talking about can do all checks for every hack
as it is way 2 much.

well useally users post in thread hack itself,
also on large threads users dosent read all pages
they just go to the end and post the problem
even the answer was given in thread about 100 times before

the system i offer, is for the best for all.
as hacker can know excacly what not working
so if he want to upgrade his hack he wont need to search for all pages of thread to search for the errors

as for user that downloaded the hack
i got well documnted bugs and fixs for them and i dont need to search all pages

its not like im pointed gun to your head and telling you do it now ;)
just keep this idea in your mind
cuse this hack can help alot to coders and users.

well there are several bug addons released on this site, why not intergrate one into the hack release system;)

also modify it so only those who have installed be able to report bugs:)
