This hack will show a small *human* :) picture under a number of posts in threads and in the memberlist showing if you're male or female.
Added a new field to user profile where (s)he can set it up. All required notes are included in a zip file which can be downloaded here.

Note that after the installation, gender won't show up. You have to select it in your profile.

It would be better to make the gender field a smallint (or even an enum) as opposed to a varchar..

i.e.

0 = undecided
1 = male
2 = female
3 = undergoing sex change

4 = Michael Jackson ?

5 = Flyers Fan?
