Reputation computed seperately per category
 

I'd like my users to have reputation values computed separately for certain categories of forums. In my case, I want to have seperate values for On-Topic Forums, Off-Topic Forums and Marketplace Forums.

I'm just starting to look into implementing this myself, but wondered if anyone else has thought of this or looked at it. The Reputation system could be a very powerful community tool with some attention devoted to it.

Can anyone at least help me with where to start? It doesn't look like it's going to be easy, but maybe I'm missing something...

It would be great if we would limit reputation to specific forums or separate them by category as the user suggests.

We've made a lot of progress using the reputation system, but I really need to separate our on-topic and off-topic rep scores at a minimum.
