Mass New User Install
 

I posted in the vb forums and they sent me here.

I have a spreadsheet with a bunch of names and e-mail addys on it. I would like to do a mass user add into my vbullitin. I heard there are bots to do this for me do they work?

can this be done? how do I assign them a pass do they all get the same one and then have them change it on a 1st login?

Best would be to write a script to add them, generate passes, and send them all an activation mail.

and what do i do if I dont know how to write scripts?

Damn, I was hoping there was a script already on the site to do this.. I've got the same problem. I'm setting a forum up for a school with over 1400 students!

Oh well, better roll my php sleeves up and get coding then :(

Have a look if you can use ImpEx to help you with this. ImpEx has the option to import users from a CSV (Comma Seperated Values) file.
