can some explain to a dummy[me] about the generate email list

can some explain to a dummy[me] about the generate email list in admincp-users- generate mailing list

1)whats it for?

2)how to use it?

3)how do u see your list?

4)how do you send a email to your mailing list?

Well there are 2 options for mass sending mails:
1) ACP->Users->Send Email to Users
2) ACP->Users->Generate Mailing list

Both will give you a screen where you can set search criteria on which the list of the mail addresses to send the mail to is generated.

Differences:
1) With this option you can set a message text and vBulletin will automatic send the message to all user mail addresses based on teh search criteria, using the servers mail system.

2) It will only generate a list of mail addresses, displayed on your screen. You can now copy & paste this list, edit it if you want, and then use it to send a mail with whatever mailer you choose (you could use your local Outlook for example).

well you can basically just use it for using your email list with a seperate mailing list, theirs some sites out there where you just have to put in the list. also if you wanted to send an email via outlook instead of vB, many uses for it really.
