New poll without new thread

what i mean is that could create new polls without creating a new thread.
AND the new poll would be displayed ONLY in forum index in somekind of a block.

plus,
when the user votes, it doesn't takes him into other page. it displayes the results into the same block.

is this possible?

only if they are going to make the hack that was requested
