Need help with a Postbit Legacy problem
 

hey everyone, Tried to get help on vbulletin.com and my modded board is not supported too much :) That makes sense though.

Here is my problem.

Since 2 days ago, any new users that are added, show up in postbit as "guest" with no avatar, though when they pm me, I see them as "Member" and see their avatar. they can still post, even though permissions are set so that "guests" can only look. I dont know what to do, to me the postbit template (legacy) looks fine, but I am not a coder so I dont know what I could have done wrong. It's really a pain right now for the new users. Can someone please figure it out for me? If it's another template, lmk and I can list it here. Dont know though, as the PM template shows it correctly.

You should not post whole templates as this violates the license agreement.
I'd advise you to remove that.

KirbyDE, I removed it, but then how do I get help? I posted this on vbulletin.com and they did not say anything about that, besides that it's not really supportable. :)

As far as I can see the template is OK.
I'd suggest you revert it (after backing up the current code in a textfile).
If it does look OK then the template is not the problem.

so I would revert, then add the changes the mods did manually afterword with a "compare files" type software?

Just revert and check if it does work correctly (I bet it will not)
If it does not work correctly, the template is not the problem and you can replace it again with the backuped version.

yeah, It does not, now shows as guest w/ posts n/a. So what else could it be. what is carrying to the template the wrong info for hte user. The users PM me and in the pm box, their info is CORRECT. What is making their postbit posts show up wrong?

Did you modify any files (most likely showthread.php, showpost.php, functions_showthread.php) recently?

If so, make sure you modified them correctly and/or reload the originals.

yeah, I just installed the Medals/Merits mod, and it stopped. I reverted the showthread.php file to the one w/out the medals merits, and it now works fine. So I gotta figure out where the code in that messed up. Do you think I can post the differences between the two codes here? or should I find the Hack page and do it there. I thank you for your help, just thought since you already know my situation you could help easier.

Re-Apply the modifications carefully then it should work.
