I'm not requesting a paid service. I'm wanting to ask some general questions about paid services and stuff.

1)How reliable is this? How often are people ripped off? I'm wanting someone to install a mess load of hacks on the latest version of Vbulletin (3.0.6.) and they will have to have access to everything.

2)What is the best way of letting them hack my board legally and safely?

3)What is the usual charge per hack or whatever?

4)Who are so reliable people that are good hackers?

I can only reply from a coders point of view:
I've taken up on a few service requests so far and was always paied correctly.

I think if you choose somebody who has got a good reputation (eg. has been here for a while, helpful to the community and released some hacks) there is not too much to worry about.
But still id't strongly suggest to change all passwords after the job is done.

As for the charge ... don't know. Depends on what needs to be done.

I'm looking at 10 to 50 hacks. Major would be like arcade simple would be like welcome hack.

well i have hired ppl before i have had no problem what so ever they usualy charge me between $5 - $10 a hack may be a lil more i found the more hacks i want installed the cheaper. Also the ppl who installed my hacks install them first then get money off me but this is not always the case. Also more ppl have been ripped off the over way round the coders do the hacks and ppl dont pay them. Hope this helps a little :)

Yeah, I've seen several people getting ripped off that way. It saddens me. I'll definatelty be putting money up front though.

There are guidelines within that forum on how to conduct your request. For me the most important thing you can do is ask for references. Get about 5 references and contact them directly via phone or IM. The more you ask for, the less likely they are to be made up.

Yes, make sure to research the people answering your request.
Are they new to the community?
Have they already answered service requests before (search for the persons username in service requests forum)?
Are they helpful in the other forums as well?
Can you review any of their previous work?
Do they have any references? If so, check these if possible.

that many hacks, probaly won't be cheap...

Agreed, make an upgrade budget for vB upgrades to add your hacks back.
